Gull St. to Mosel Avenue Trail Segment Open

More than 50 trail advocates and community leaders attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony Nov. 20 for the Kalamazoo River Valley Trail segment from Gull St. to Mosel Avenue, officially opening this section of trail and expanding completed trail to more than 8 miles. Speakers included Dr. Charles Warfield, chair of the KRVT Campaign Education Division, Dave Rachowicz, director of Kalamazoo County Parks, Tom Hohm, chief engineer with the Kalamazoo County Road Commission, and Matt Wiitala, enhancement grant coordinator with the Michigan Department of Transportation.

This 1.7 mile stretch of non-motorized trail leads through Verbug Park, follows the Kalamazoo River and includes a pedestrian bridge and many feet of boardwalk.
