DALMAC Fund gives to Kalamazoo River Valley Trail again!

The DALMAC Fund, administered by the Tri-County Bicycle Association, awarded another gift to the Kalamazoo River Valley Trail in recognition of our efforts to continue to develop this 35-mile regional trail system. The donation will be presented May 27th, 2010 in Lansing.

New bridge installed over Creek at Rose Park Veterans Memorial

The bridge over the Portage Creek was set near Rose Park Veterans Memorial, just north of Michigan Avenue.  This bridge (pictured below) provides a link from Jack Coombs Park to Mayors Riverfront Park.

Gull St. to Mosel Avenue Trail Segment Open

More than 50 trail advocates and community leaders attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony Nov. 20 for the Kalamazoo River Valley Trail segment from Gull St. to Mosel Avenue, officially opening this section of trail and expanding completed trail to more than 8 miles. Remaining trail segments to be funded through Phase II of the campaign include:

KRVT Fundraising Update

In 2008 Phase I of the KRVT Campaign was successfully completed with $5,674,492 raised in government and charitable dollars. Today the Parks Foundation of Kalamazoo County is leading a community-wide effort to raise $5.9 million in private contributions to be combined with $7 million in government commitments to finish this project, which has been nearly [...]

10th Street to Downtown

Phase I of the KRVT Campaign secured private and public funds to build two segments of the Kalamazoo River Valley Trail. The first segment, which is 4.8 miles from 10th Street and the Kal-Haven Trail head to Westnedge Avenue near Michigan, opened in September 2008.
